CONGRATS Patsy Brown!!!

Patsy Brown just became Pensacola's newest member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association!!! This is a huge honor in the wedding photography industry. The WPJA is one of the most sought after memberships in the industry. Welcome to the WPJA Patsy! Your work is among the best, and it's now recognized as such. To give you an idea of how few members of the WPJA there are, there are only two in Pensacola, and two where I live in Colorado Springs (as far as I know at least). Congratulations Patsy!

I LOVE MY JOB

I just got this email. I can't believe I get paid for this job. When I get swamped in work, and feel overwhelmed, I reopen emails like this and it puts it all into perspective. KUMBAAAAAYAAAAA my LOOOORD!......just kidding. The names and dates of this email have been blurred to protect........well....... the names and dates.

Monday

Ashley Lewis and her Mom

I had a great time with Ashley and her Mom on this Bridal Session. We originally started at the beach, but the winds were way to strong to shoot so, we moved inland. We headed to the Barkley House where we bumped into Patsy Brown with her own bride!!!!. Great minds think alike. So we had our brides fight and......no I'm kidding. It was great to see Patsy. She is an incredible photographer and a wonderful friend. Check out her work at www.PatsyBrown.com (copy and paste that link).
If you check her blog, you can see her own images of the same shoot at the Barkley House.

An all American Engagement session

I recently finished up an engagement session with Jenn and Lenny. Both of them are active duty Military as Miltary Intelligence. I remember hearing people say things like "you're a hero for what you do" when I was in the military, and I always dismissed it as someone just expressing their patriatism, but thought it wasn't true and a bit dramatic. It wasn't until long after I was discharged that I realized that people serving in the military really are true modern day heroes. An easy way to prove this is to ask yourself a simple questions. Would you be living the life you do, and doing what you are doing at this exact moment if these people serving in uniform weren't protecting your rights to do it? The few serve the many in ways we can only imagine. Life would be drastically different if we had no guards at the front gate. So....here's to our warriors. Keep them in your prayers. Jenn, Lenny and myself had a hard time scheduling there E-session because Jenn was deployed to Iraq. I'm glad we finally got the chance.

Paging Tiffany Thomas...paging Tiffany Thomas.

Hey Tiffany,
I'm getting your emails, but you're not getting mine. Your images are online, but I can't send you the link cause your not getting my emails, and the number I have for you is not the number you have for yourself. :) Call me.

Tiffany and John Engagement Session

We just finished an engagment session with Tiffany and John in Portofino. The light out there was perfect that morning. Tiffany hired me after hearing about me from a local Politician named Jimmy Johnson who was going door to door getting support for his upcoming election. Funny how things work out. Here's a couple of shots from their session.

Another Artistic Guild of the WPJA win!

I just learned that I placed 13th in the latest Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association contest! That almost takes the sting out of being away from home. I'm in Florida right now shooting a string of weddings....sigh.....and Sarah is back in Colorado.

Friday

Bethany and Richard

This blog post is in response to the WPJA request for extraordinary wedding stories. The WPJA was contacted by PEOPLE magazine, looking for extraordinary wedding stories.
Bethany and Richard were married in November of last year, in Pensacola, Florida. Bethany is a 22 year old bride, while Richard, her groom is a 39 year old Marine Corps attack helicopter pilot. Bethanny and Richard were married in a miltary ceremony complete with an honor guard. Unfortunately, Bethany and Richard had to part directly after the honeymoon due to Richard's militarty status and the war on terrorism. Richard, a Marine Corps Major, is still away from his bride.
